Try a warm crab dip. This is awsome. Combine cream cheese, mayo onion and garlic with one shucked crab, bake for 20 minutes and serve warm with crackers

Couldn't you just substitute crab for salmon when you make cakes?

I never made Crab cakes myself, I have bought them from the store. But I would make them if I had a good recipe.

Maybe this page will help? (http://southernfood.about.com/od/crabrecipes/Crab_Recipes_Recipes_Using_Crabmeat_Canned_and_Fresh.htm)

I've made crab cakes a few times from assorted on-line recipes.  They're sort of hard to screw up, if you remember one thing--and that is (in my experience): after you have made the patties/ cakes make sure you refrigerate them for 30-60 minutes to help them set up.  Otherwise, they'll fall apart when you fry them.  I always thought it was a silly step, but it does seem to really make a difference.

Just remember with crab cakes; breadcrumbs, egg, and a goodly amount of seasoning.
