Boat Launches in the lower Fraser
« on: September 02, 2007, 02:15:03 PM »

Hi Guys, my Friend has just gotten a boat and we want to get on the lower Fraser and are trying to find some boat launches.  I know of two: MacDonald Beach and the one on Burbridge.  Are there any more in this area.  Preferably fairly wide lauches as he still hasn't gotton use to backing the trailer in so we are looking for fairly easy launch sites until he feels more comfortable.  Thanks in advance.

Maquabeak Park, right beneath the Port Mann bridge, north side of the Fraser.

Few more places
1) surrey side slightly downstream of the Patullo bridge,
2) at Bridgeview Marine on river road Delta,
3) Captains cove in Delta,
4) Wellington point near Canoe Pass on River Road Delta.
Try going to a tackle store and pick up a product called"Fishing MAp, Fraser River edition. Has most of the boat ramps and spots to fish listed in it. Costs maybe $10.00 or so.

Some of the places mentioned above, is only good during high tide.  Wellington, has no deck during low tide.  Captain's cove is a problem for boats during low tide, it's very shallow.  Port Mann Bridge, that one is good.  McDonald Beach is okay.

it would depend on your boat size a bit on the low water issue. I have a 16' boat and can launch or pull out on any tide at both Wellington or Captain's Cove buif your boat is around 20' or so you need to watch the tides.
