upper fraser no springs, August 2nd and 3rd 2008

fished for 6 hours sat. and 8 hours sun. with 4 lines out of the back of the boat and only hooked one sock on a chrome with red top glo.Anchored at mountain bar and top of peg leg with no success.

FN opening yesterday and today (7am-7pm) for sockeye and chinook.  This happens pretty well each weekend which probably accounts for your lack of action.

3 of us put in about 6 hours with the same results but it was a lovely afternoon to be out fishing. Found a few agates and a 10 ounce pyramid bar weight. The tube steaks were good too. ;D

When we launched at 2:30 the creel surveyor at Island 22 she she had recorded no chinook at that time, not sure when her shift started.

Better bar fishing just around the corner. ;D ;D

Keep all the lead you can find.
We stopped in Kent Outdoors yesterday, and they were selling 16 ounce bar weights for over 7 bucks a piece. They were 2 bucks last summer.

Is there a website link that shows FN openings?
I might go barfishing on the fraser next weekend but i don't want to waste time and gas if thier nets are out scooping all the fish up....

Hey Robert G, theres a few shops in the valley area that have jacked their prices way high, head over to Gary at Chilliwack Dart & Tackle he kept his where they should be.

Also One Spring yesterday for me and one for my bud, both too big for the limit, little furtehr up than you guys.

My old neighbor used to rig up that way... He tried to explain the rig to me but i couldn't fully understand... So how do you go about rigging up a railway spike and wear do you get them?

Socks are closed now, so that wouldn't work. Maybe a NPM would be better?
