I need some tips for fishing the Pitt river, like where to fish (only from shore), and what type of spoons. Just targeting fish that are good to eat.
-
Not much retention allowed on the lower river and few hatchery coho or cuttys any way.
The Fraser would be better, try Gibbs coho spoons or crocks, from shore, lots of places near there like Maquabeak park beside the Port Man bridge etc.
-
Don't you read regulations before fishing a system? NO RETENTION ON THE PITT!!!!
-
Thought you could keep some trout?
-
Just targeting fish that are good to eat.
Then stay off the Pitt...
-
2 hatchery marked trout and char per day can be kept, but don't go by anyone's words when it comes to regulations, including mine.
Read the regulations in the following links thoroughly, as I have already pointed out when you asked about where you can fish on the Coquitlam River.

are there many trout/char in the system right now?
-
Nope nothing in there rite now. Dead zone for fish!!!!!!!
-
This thread is the poster thread of what's wrong with people and fishing!! Complete ignorance! The resources are available to everyone and with the technology of today their are no excuses for not following the regulations. Their are apps as well as a website.
Are we really to believe that the OP was talking about trout to start with? Who goes to the Pitt to kill trout? Just go to any put and take lake and go kill some hatchery fish. Your chances are MUCH better on a lake. Go to Lafarge
-
Haha, you are one funny little fella, yapping away like your some sort of know-it-all. I'm going to the pitt because I want to catch some bigger game fish unlike the half a pound ones at lafarge.

ur posts are contradicting each other. funny that ur calling bb a little fella lol...
oh ya, read the regs.
-
I love how everyone attacks OP..
But put in your own work to find how to fish and where like we all do.
-
Why don't you just go here

You previously said you want to eat the fish. Can't do that there.
-
Wouldn't it be easier to just quickly answer his question rather than getting all high and mighty and attacking him?
Some people (especially newer anglers) find the regulations confusing, and last time I checked this is a fishing forum where questions are encouraged.

Little fella? LMAO that's a good one
Has nothing to do with being a know it all. It has to do with reading regulations newbie or not. Some say they are confusing but they are not. Especially this systems regulations. Any new water I try out I read the regs before venturing out
-
I havent looked at the regs. recently.
Didn't realise the Lower Pitt was now a sanctuary for fish.
Had some good times there and caught a few hatchery Coho.
Is too bad we cant keep them now and looks like hatchery Cutthroat are closed there now too.
This is crazy if you ask me.
-
Well I fished it, not very impressive though. Caught a 5" coastal cutty with a spoon. Then I went bottom water fishing and I don't know what it was but it was something, was really heavy and broke my hook in half
-
Maybe a Sturgeon...
-
i was using those little power bait eggs, and also I pulled it till about 2-3 meters away from shore and it would move, no fight or nothin, even when reelin it in
-
wouldn't move*
-
wait no, I was using about a 2 or 3" grub and using the current to push it
-
Sounds like you hooked something non-fishy. A car tire perhaps? Lol
-
Pitt is used for log booms and has been for 50 years.dead heads all over.i was thinking he hooked a log. But then who really gives a rats azz.eh :-X
