Some of you already know me from other sites but decided to quit being a lurker on this site and join up. I fish mainly the chuck on MyEscape a 17.5 calglass rebuilt and totaly decked out for fishing year round. However I also lake and river fish to. Have yet to take up fly fishing but have tried almost every other type of fishing. I live on the rock (Vancouver Island) in Courtenay/Comox so I am central to all the good fishing areas. Hope to meet and fish with many of you in the future. ;)

Welcome to FWR, nice to see another fisherman from VI, you guys have it good over here, lots of opportunities. I've been here for a few months, love it, and are gradually discovering what the Island has to offer.
I had no idea there were so many lurkers... ;D ::) ;)

Thanks for the warm welcome and yes I do post when I have things to add. I am also willing to give out tips on fishy areas or gear to help out others in having a great day out on the water. I love the name of my boat to, thanks for the compliment it says it all, MyEscape.

When fishing for sockeye I run one dummy flasher per side and stack two rods with flashers and hootchies or spoons per side. When I hit a double or triple header I just just speed the boat up a bit and hope they stick. The trick is to bury your line in the down rigger clips so you get a good hook set. With all that being said all hell breaks loose but it's a blast when you have more then one fish on at a time but thats why I have two nets and can drive the boat from the front or back.

Here's a pick with me in action. Note a second fish is on the other rod I was lucky and did land both fish, this is the first picture the second was the one which I posted first on this thread showing the rewards.
