Title: Any biologists out there?
Post by: Jonny 5 on April 08, 2008, 11:40:43 AM
Hello everyone, I have a biology question for those who may know.

1. Could some one explain the BOD5 (biological oxygen demad) test to me.
2. In this kind of test, are long chain hydrocarbons also used up/included in the oxidation reaction (such as fuel oils or pesticides)?
3. how sensitive is this test to detect hydrocarbons if at all?

thanks,

Jon
