WTF - If eagles can take down deer, that bird would snatch a baby out of a stroller.

I wonder how many small pets go missing to eagles?

I've seen that video from Central Asia-probably Kazakhstan-where they've hunted with Golden Eagles for 1,000's of years.

It's only a half grown Deer though-any good sized dog could take it down.

Does a wolf count as a good size dog in your book? cuz golden eagles are known to kill those too. Oh and did a mention that they can crush a human skull with their talons? im pretty sure this is one of those creatures you dont wana F with.

Yes we have Golden Eagles here-all kinds in the Interior, lots of info here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Eagle

looks like a roe deer, there small so im not surprised that a big eagle did that, well maybe a little surprised :D

True they take large animals, that Golden eagle is a trained bird and that deer was released. They use GE to hunt in Asia.

We do have them here on the coast too.

Last winter I was very surprised to see one (a juvenile) eating dead salmon at Island 22 and sucsessfully fighting off a bald eagle!

They are more common up in the mountains (Cheam Mountain etc). They also like to knock mountain goats off their ledges and then eat them after they die on the rocks below. They prefer prey that uses the least amount of energy to catch though (Marmots, snowshoe hares, grouse/ptarmigan etc) Awesome birds. I would never go near a nest!!!  :o :o :o :o
