Has any one fished the Cap since the water rises? Is it in flood now? Used to be hot fishing when the river flooded in July/Aug. How is it now?
-
Some fish are moving through but the water is choclate. Water was droping while a was there but contiued to stay brown.
-
If you know where they sit in this coour you can have some fun. It's been decent fishing these last few days but tough cause of the coloour.Roe and blades have been the go to gear.

Took a walk down to the hatchery , on the weekend. The viewing ladder is loaded with mostly darker coho, at the 1-3 lb range , as well as a few chromers uo to 15 lbs.

tight lipped hatchery fish have always been the norm in the cap. But because of the numbers ur always gonna get a few fish that will bite.

Water is still brown, I was there last night... barely anything showing themselves... I only saw two fish roll in two hours...
Visibility is about 10 inches...
I don't get that, cause the levels are way down... Is it dirty in the resevoir?
Cheers,
Nicole

The GVRD may be releasing water from the bottom of the reservoir.

There's 2-3 ft of vis today! Perfect conditions. The river dropped another foot overnight but didn't see too many rollers and nothing for me.

I'm surprised at what you are saying Nicole. I was into 4 in less than an hour last night. Lousy vis but plenty of fish showing, just before dark. Yup when the river looks like it is the res is coloured. I can't remember seeing the river this colour this late in July before...

I never said I didn't get fish ;) i was using roe (I know, shame!).
Maybe we'll cross paths tonight?
:)

Sneaky gal, leading fools to make silly assumptions :D :D
No angling tonight, but I'm sure we'll cross paths soon now that you have joined the ranks of city angler. We'll let the closed minded religious zealots think that the only good angling is in the sticks, shall we? ;D

Added one more to the freezer tonight, lots of soft takes, it was driving me nuts...
Ralph are you using a flyrod?
Cheers,
Nicole
>Hahaha! on the zealots... I like closed minds if that means they stay away from my spots!! ;)

Hi stickin' short line nymphin'. Kind of cool but only when you find moving fish... Maybe one day I'll dust off the Calcutta...nah maybe I'll see if I can find my brand new Lamiglass pinrod that I bought specifically for these fish but only used about 6 times a bunch of years ago...or I'll stick with the high stickin'...hmmm...waiting for that other fishery to pick up. That will solve the dilemma ;)
