An easy cure is the classic "3-2-1".
Ingredients:
3 parts Borax
2 parts Sugar (white)
1 part Non-Iodized Salt (Kosher or Sea Salt)
Steps:
Mix the 3 ingredients well. Prep Skeins by butterflying them, cut up into whatever sizes you want.
Coat both sides of the eggs with cure. Make sure everything is covered but don't need to drown them in cure.
Toss in a large Ziploc bag and mix them around gently so cure gets into all the eggs/skein.
Put in the Fridge for 24 hours (turn them a few times throughout that time, whenever you think to).
After 24 hours, add any Dyes or Scents you want (e.g. Cherry Powered Kool-aid for dark red coloring, Liquid oil scents like Anise, Shrimp, etc.)
Mix around all the scents and oils in the Ziploc and put back into the fridge for another 24-48 hours.
They're ready to fish or put a jar and freeze. If you're fishing them right away and the eggs feel a little wet/soft, coat them in borax overnight.
Because of the high sugar & salt content in this cure it's difficult for these eggs to get freezer burnt.
