Title: Square Reel (not spare)
Post by: troutbreath on January 21, 2007, 09:24:04 PM
Saw this guy using a pretty simple set up that made any Pinner or Spay Chucker look like bottle feeders. This was on the Vedder today and he had one on, but lost it off the top of the wood angle before he could get another good wrap around it.
here is the set up

Here's a bigger picture, I just didn't want to get right in his face with the camera. :) Talked a bit with him and told him I'd like to take his picture. He was European and it looked like the way they did things back there. He was good with the set up thats for sure. 2 megapixel cameras suck.

Most of the north shore regulars have bumped into a guy with a board for a real and I don't think this is that guy.  I used to see him on the seymour all the time, he was a budy of the owner of that old tackle shop "Cast Away".  I havent seen the original board guy years but I would guess that head be in he'd be WAY older than the guy in the pic.

He fished mostly gooeybobs and pink worms and had his trade mark duct taped finger tips (to prevent line burn)!
