Title: motor repair?

i bought a 6 horse evinrude recently, looks to be a mid seventies model, worked good for a bit and now it wont start, does any body know of someplace i could take it to get serviced?? i live in east van

I have delt with Lees marine a few times and lee is a very knowledgable guy. It is right across the street from rocky point in port moody. This may be a little out of your way though.

I'd really recommend Joe from Haney Marine.  A bit of a drive from east Van but trust me well worth it.

These motors are very easy to work on i've got a 68 johnson 6hp. Its the same as the rudes. check out iboats.com there is lots of info for you. Parts are very cheap for these old motors.

Lordship Marine on 36th & Victoria.  They only work with Johnson/Evinrude motors.

Maybe you have done this, but make sure the gas is fresh and try starting it again. I would think that most shops must do a lot of cleaning varnish out of carbs due to stale gas.
