Title: Eagle Point Lodge
Post by: ham on July 17, 2004, 12:21:43 PM
Went to eagle point from July 2nd to 6th. The first and last day were more travel than anything. We fished in Canadian and Alaskan waters. Springs in BC and halibut in alaska. The first day we started out at 4:30am with an hour boat ride to the fishing grounds. Very slow in three different spots. We ended up with 3 springs all in the mid 30s and a bunch of coho.  Back to the lodge buy 2:00pm to clean and package them.  A quick bight to eat and off to Alaska for some halabit. What a blast that was. I have never caught one before. It was dope. (as my son would say.) Just as everyone says  like pulling up a sheet of plywood. We got 12 from 15 lbs to 50lbs. Back to the lodge to clean and package them. Dinner buy 10:30pm and in bed at 12 when the sun is just going down. We fished like this for three days and the last was deffinatly the best. We could not keep the fish off the lines or not even get a second line down. Four pods of Killer whales came and flanked the fishing grounds. It was unreal. All in all i brought home 247lbs of fillets to fill the freezer i had bought just for the trip. Biggest was 46lbs and lots in the 30s and 40s. Coho 10lbs and up.

Some of the ones in the mid 30s made the post 44lbs look small. ;D

Check out my pictures of the trip. There are four page of memorable fishing that i will never forget. ;D
