Title: Derby Reach question...
Post by: halcyonguitars on October 20, 2016, 09:05:40 PM
I know, I know, so many questions:)

Google Earthing the park shows it to be pretty large. Are there any spots where the bottom is better than other spots, ie more gravelly/less snaggy for barfishing?

Is the campground area available slightly downriver, or are the campgrounds private?

I believe the better spots are at and after the picnic shed.

Until the end of the month you have to pay to use the vamp sites. It used to be til the end of September but now they allow camping til Halloween. You can have success in the day use area, but not ideal.

Go up river to the "Old Fort."
There are plenty of parking areas on the river side before getting there.
Take any of the paths to the river.
Sandy beaches and sandy bottom of the river.
Never been snagged there.
