HELP! Looking for family vacation spot during spring break
« on: February 05, 2005, 10:19:24 AM »

I'm hoping to take the family (w 2 children) to some cabin with good fishing activity between Mar 21-29.  I know it's too early for salmon, but are there other species that bite at that time?  And where?  We don't mind driving / ferry 4-6 hours from Vancouver, have a good inflatable boat with electric motor, have fishing gear and license for everybody, but can't afford fishing guide service.

It's our last school year here before returning to California, so we hope for an excellent family time fishing the BC water.  Any idea where we should go?  Appreciate any help we can get!

THANKS!

Hung

Not too far away take the Ferry to Swartz Bay then to Fulford-cheap that way.
Bass won't be too active but there are lots of Trout in the lake and with your setup you could do well-one good place to fish Cutts is right in front of the resort.
Might be a dsiscount if you mention FWR.

Actually that's what I recommended to Hung in a PM, but I wasn't sure if Mark is already operating in March...? If he is, you WILL get a discount if you mention you are a FWR member. :) How's the smallmouth bass fishing in late March anyways?

Thanks Rodney for the PM.  I will call to see if they're open in March.  Thought about joining you in June but not sure about our schedule yet.  May have to be all packed up by then   :(

That's too bad, but if you are around then you are always welcome to come in the last minute. If not, I guess we just have to come down to Cali to fish with you. ;)
