Buntzen Lake, May 26th 2019

BananasQ:
Took the porta-bote out for its maiden voyage after buying used in the States; thing is comical but actually surprisingly good.  Lake was busy as for a May morning.  Trolled along the west side and marked lots of fish, but not much surface activity.  Tried lures and leeches, no real joy.  Didn't see anyone catching (apart from an 8 year old from shore - good on you kid!), but again lots of fishing pressure.

Bavarian Raven:
This lake is easy to limit out, especially in spring/fall. Fish early. Ford fender and dark red wedding ring. With worms. About 10-15 feet deep. Troll east side from dog park to cliffs and back. Hard not to catch trout / kokanee on this set up.  8) Cheers and gl.

Thanks BR - will get up a bit earlier and give it a try.  :)

And if that area doesn't produce, try the big bay on the western side of the lake, just past the twin islands. Those two areas always seem to produce the best. And if you are very lucky, you might even catch one of the "monster" trout in the lake.  ;) Cheers.

Thanks! My 8 year old and I braved the long weekend and actually caught four fish in a couple of hours - thanks so much for the tips - they really paid off.  :D
