Title: Old Orchard boat launch
Post by: chum dad on September 17, 2010, 08:47:34 PM
Anyone ever used this launch? Is it easy to navigate with a prop motor or is the river too low? Any info would be helpful, thanks

It pretty easy to navigate from there. Just head west from where you launch the boat. Be aware that the tides affect the water level and sometimes you need to back in quite a ways.

You have to row your boat past the stumps, then your all good from there.

Has anyone been launching from this location recently? Is there enough water to launch a 16' tin boat during a high tide? Thanks.

I would check it at low tide if you are not too far away.

I looked at it several years ago but there were such narrow channels I didn't attempt in my prop boat.
