« on: August 23, 2008, 10:34:06 PM »

I'm Going to Terrace next Thursday night to fish until Monday and taking a couple of buddies.  I have not been there before any suggestions or tips? Thanks in advance.

I was just there for a few days, the skeena was not fishing too well last week because of vis, but it might be better now... there is a nice bar right in terrace called copper flats, or you could go out of town and fish the china bar (which I never did because of the river conditions)

Kitimat is great right now, try being there for high tide, and be sure to stop in at the kitimat home hardware for tips, that fishing shop is helpful and well stocked.
Don't forget your bear spray.

The Skeena downstream of the Kitseguecla is very dirty at the moment but is fishable, and unfishable downstream from the mouth of the Copper. The rain hasn't stopped up here for the past week. Your only other options right now would be the Kispiox ( maybe ), Bulkley above the Telkwa, or the Kitimat. Remember as of Sept. 1st you will need a classified license.

I'll be drowning the Bulkley Bandit in a matter of minutes........ ;D

Thats funny.......Georges Pub in the Northern is probably your best bet, or the bar in Boston Pizza.....The Alpenhorn in Smithers is packed everynight during steelhead season.....and the Twin has peelers....!
Your best bet is to save the partying for home.....You don't go all the way to the salmon and steelhead capital of North America to chase women....

The rivers up here are really getting muddy.....The upper Bulkley only had about 3' of vis yesterday, and it's pouring again right now....

If possible you might want to delay your trip for a week or so....
If you can't.....fish big and tight.
