Fished the cap the last few days and cant believe how big the springs are this year, lots of big bruts this year,Good luck trying to get them to shore.

There's always big whites there tho they are not my prime interest still a good time ;D

I saw a guy at the busstop with a broken rod, he said a chinook snapped it as he was bringing it in on the cap, and it was a big rod

Sounds Like fun :D I would prolly curse, then laugh about it for days If that happened to my rod. Might have to stop by.

I would be a bit shocked at first and then laugh afterwords. A fishing story one would not forget.

there have been great whites in cap river for a long time. The chinook salmon in the cap are transplants from the harrison river... got a tyee last year. always wondered why they chose white chinooks instead of red.

Probably foul hooked one and lost it in the rapids like what happens to most

Yup. I fished the cap at my usual spots today but it was really fast so went up to cable pool to have a look. These guys were foul hooking springs and everytime it would get rushed downstream by the rapids. I watched two guys almost get spooled out. I dunno why they even bother to fish there when its high. Almost impossible to land and I've seen a few rods broken by springs.

Has anyone hooked into coho? All I seem to get are coho jacks, jack springs and tons of chum. No Coho or springs yet for me. Havent seen anyone land a mature coho yet. They probably shot up to the hatchery huh?
-
I hooked four mature cohos there yesterday, but was not able to land any because of the rapids. I saw one or two get brought in (legally).

Caught a few springs a few days ago, havent seen any mature coho yet,i know they dont like the fast water so maybe there still waiting til the river level to comes down a bit?
