Varibale speed vs Normal
« on: April 27, 2006, 09:59:10 AM »

Still not sure what electric motor to get. The variable speed motors start at around 350$ and the normal 3-5 speed ones are around 150$ and up. Some poeple say that the lowest speed on the 3-5 speed motor is too fast for trolling. And with the variable you can choose the exact speed. ????? Any of you guys know anything??

Get the variable speed. Apart from the better speed control the other advantage is efficiency. Your battery will last twice as long between charges with the variable speed motor.
