Size of hook
« on: October 21, 2009, 04:57:17 PM »

I have been fishing in the stave for chum and coho.
I went and picked up some size 4/0 hooks, before i was using smaller hooks.
4/0 isnt too big, is it?

4/0 is friggin massive.  Thats what I'll use when bar-fishing springs on the Fraser.
I wouldn't go any bigger than size 1, even for chum.
I've been using size 2 hooks all season.

4/0 is huge.
You won't catch coho on that size.
1/0 max.

haha, 4/0.  What are you fishing for sturgeon.  No 1 or 2 hooks, 10lb leader is all you will ever need.

benefit a snagger/flosser/bottom bouncer. Go get some #1's some 12lb, and float fish above the fish so they need to take the bait to get hooked

Just bring it back to the tackle shop and exchange it.
