Water Wolf underwater HD camera
« on: July 11, 2016, 03:05:05 PM »

A fishing show host was plugging this  http://waterwolfhd.com/en/ on a Saturday fishing show. It's an inline camera that can be cast or trolled. At approx $150 USD it looks to be a neat little toy.

The host talked about how he observed a chinook salmon mouth a trolled herring but in doing so, the chinook pulled forward so there was slack in the leader and the clip didn't release. Or how lake trout followed his spoon for 15 minutes. The fish didn't show on his sounder as they were obviously to the side of his boat yet they pulled in behind it to follow his gear.

Looks cool, I might give it a try.

Could be interesting after an hour or two of unproductive trolling to see if it is the lure/presentation or location that is the culprit.

ie - followers with no bites, short bites or no bites/fish seen.

Or if big fish are seen but only small guys are biting etc etc etc.

The only challenge/downside is that it doesn't transmit. Is has an SD card so if you were wanting to make adjustments in the field you would need to plug the card into a unit on the boat to watch the video.

Like you, my mind is swirling with the possibilities and applications...

Yeah, I get that.  I have a tablet for use with Ifish raymarine.

so what I can do is plot my course and troll for an hour or however long.  watch the video in higher speed while I troll some more, then back track my steps as needed based on productivity or seeing followers on the video.

for $150 I would play around with it and see how goes...
