O.K. You experts...here's your chance to shine. I am going to Hwy 24 area next week for a little flyfishing. What are your suggestions for good lakes in the area at this time of year. Accurate information only please.  ;D

Terry I can not for the life of me remeber the lakes name but it is the one on your right hand side of the hwy just west of Lonebute as you cross the railway tracks. It has public access off of the hwy now and fishes well nearly year round. since they aerated it

The tackle shop in Lone butewould be helpful for fly selections

Watch Lake has some large ones.  I like Freindly lake N.E. of 100 mile.  4x4 only. bring a chainsaw to get in/out ;D  I e-mailed my buddy in Little Fort and the fish have been biting on that side.

This would be Irish Lake. According to usually well informed sources they are planning to shut down the aerator and stocking program for this lake. If you have been fishing there in the past and would like do so in the future you might want to let the respective authorities know.

However the area holds around 125 excellent fishing lakes.

If you into really exploring the area , just north of Sheridin lake there is Needa Lake off of Windy mountain rd. There is a Forestry Camp site there with about 6 sites . Actually you will see alot of small lakes just getting there that hold great fishing . BTW , I heard a story about Irish Lake along time ago that there is toxic chemicals leaching into the lake from an old dump site close to this lake . I don't know if this is true . Just something I heard when I was up there quite a few years ago . I went anyway and slammed into some big trout . They all looked normal  ;D
