Title: boat bling
Post by: bentrod on January 30, 2007, 08:10:05 PM
Anyone adding some accessories to their boats this year?  I'm picking up my 2nd. Scotty electric downrigger 1106 tomorrow (boat show time is the time to do it $369.00 US).  Some other things I'm going to do is:
Add LED cabin lights, add a 4-bank on-board charger, troll master remote throttle control for the kicker, and possibly add a VHF Radio.  The big purchase comes next year with a 24 volt bow mount trolling motor and replace the Lowrance with a GPS Lowrance.  Still haven't told the wife about that one :-\

Well, I'm adding 4 new scotty striker rod holders to ours, as well as a VHF radio, GPS, and hopefully....a nice big bold sound system..oh and a spit polish!

"and you might put in a vhf radio"

I agree, don't count on your cell phone or c.b. radio to get a signal when you most need them. Speaking from experience.

good point, I'll bump it up a few notches on the priority list.  Any recommended models would be helpful.

Dont forget to go over your snaps on your tops with some kind of lube.
A Q Tip to apply and you will save yourself a trip to the boat top repair shop.

They do sell a product just for this but a little of anything is better than nothing.
