I was wondering what the best type of line for my abu garcia ambassadeur 6600 c4 is(braid or mono), and at the moment im am using 15LB Berkley big game line, and the type of fishing i do with this reel is mostley Coho and steelhead fishing in the Vedder!

Personally I always spool mine with 12lb test Maxima Ultragreen.

I outfitted my low profile levelwind with PowerPro Slick8 and I couldn't be happier.
It is much less noisy than regular braid and it floats making mending line much easier than mono (especially for long casts across fast water).

X2 for coho/steelhead... ;)

Maxima or Big Game mono line.

12-20lb maxima ultra green is probly one of the more common and trusted lines on the market. I usually go a bit heavier like 15-20 lbs mainly because I like to use 10-15lb flourocarbon leaders.

I have 30lb yellow power pro on mine. I only have one baitcaster so I put this line on it so I can use it for springs too. But when i'm fishing coho, i'll just tip it with about 8ft of 12lb Maxima using an albright knot.

I have had both braid and mono on my abu and luna. I think the braid is better for casting and drifting, however I have found that if I hit a fish and don't hook it my braid tangles around the end of my rod. Because of this I have gone back to mono on my luna and left the braid 50lb on my abu for the Fraser

12lb Maxima

I use 15lbs because I prefer to fish 12lbs leader for the bigger springs.
I suggest considering the heaviest tippet your likely to fish frequently then spooling up with something slightly heavier (so you don't lose all your gear when you break off).
Maxima ultragreen is the most popular and IMO the best. I think braid is better suited for the Fraser.
