For me, the quality of a trout is not measured in pounds and inches, but rather by the journey and circumstances that allowed our paths to cross...

Yes, it can definitely be performed with a single fly (not nearly as effective as multiples though). In this case, loch-style is referring to the fact that the boats must be free-drifting with the wind and the anglers are casting and working their presentation ahead of the drift at all times (no trailing, trolling or anchoring).

I fish loch-style with a single fly all the time while fishing the stillwaters of British Columbia, and have great success as a result of employing this technique. Besides, the winds of our interior and coastal lakes are absolutely ideal for loch-style fishing...  :)

For those of you who emailed me wondering where you can purchase a drogue...

Minn Kota makes one that you can order them through your local fishing shop: http://store.minnkotamotors.com/products/3..._Pro_Drift_Sock

Canadian Tire also sells a model that comes in a few different sizes: http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/5/Sp...k.jsp?locale=en

I have a few different sizes of each model, but my absolute favourite design is the "para drogue" that I picked up while I was in England a few years ago: http://www.sportfish.co.uk/product/wychwood-para-drogue

Good-luck.

Cheers,
Todd
