What a great couple of hours! I hit Sasamat at around 11:15 and left at 1:00 with my limit! I was fishing right at the bottom and just nailing them! Missed 3 more. Just a hint - if you are interested in fishing in Sasamat use gear, not bait and keep it moving deep and slowly!
Cheers!

Nice fish man ;D I have got to get out :(
-
i'd try a small hildebrant spoon in gold or silver... on full sink flyline from a float tube.......
-
No, I was fishing off the floating bridge. As for set up, I find the most productive way to fish that lake is with a sliding weight above a swivel, then your leader, about 4 feet long and a small white rubber worm/jig on a hook. Cast it out, let it sink right to the bottom and slow, dead slow retrieve! In the warmer months I use the same set up but I start my retrieve as soon as it hits the water!

Awesome! It's not always easy to catch trout at Sasamat. I even find Blue Fox Vibrax spinners to be almost useless on that lake.

nice chromers ;D

Hey Long_Cast, funny you say that, its one of the only things(Blue Fox Vibrax spinner) Ive caught trout with at that lake, same thing, let it get to the bottom, with a slow retrieve. It does seem as though alot of people use a bait & float there. Ive also caught one there on a Mepps Black Fury.
Nice fish Chuck23!!!
Gonna head up there Sunday, good little lake in the winter...tightlines
