Title: Best PFD for guiding?
Post by: silver ghost on June 07, 2013, 01:07:38 AM
Hi all, recently landed a guiding job for later on this summer and i am therefore in the market for a PFD for wearing at work.

I have heard good things about the mustang survival "collars" as they are called - both auto inflate and manual inflate. But maybe there is a better option I don't know about?

For those that fish and/or guide, what is your favorite PFD and why? i will need one that will be comfortable enough to wear all day, everyday. If it has a spot for a radio, even better...

your opinions are greatly appreciated

The mustang survival "collars" are very comfortable and definitely can be worn all day.

I guided/deckhanded with the same mustang for over 9 years, replaced the CO2 every year, and it still worked even when i retired it when i got another one. The labels were all worn off, and fabric faded, but still solid and went off when i pulled the chord.
