Sockeye on the fly
« on: July 29, 2008, 12:57:30 PM »

Did anyone have any success fly fishing for sockeye in the Fraser during the short opening? I know its probably just another way to floss but I was wondering if anyone tried it or saw others giving it a try? I caught a couple of sockeye at the top of Pegleg a couple of years ago. I was using a Spey rod and sink tip.

Hahah I tried man, but have never fished the fraser before so the spots I was at were too deep and fast. My fifteen feet of t-14 just wasnt cutting it. That is one mighty river. Have heard there are some spots that are good on the fly but the water at this time is too high. Should be fun when the pinks are around next year  ;)
