Title: camping suggestion - beach

I am planning a last second camping trip this weekend.  Any suggestions on places to camp where its permitted to harvest clams and mussels off the beach that is close by?  I remember doing this as a kid and having a blast!

Not sure if it's still permissible but I've saw people a few years back at Birch Bay, WA.
