Some relatives and close friends have implied recently and in the past that I and my fishin pals should have an intervention to curb our excessive(their words)fishing obsession.I think they are wrong.So what if we shirk yard and house work? Is it not a magnificent obsession?What matter the garbage doesn't get to the road because we might lose a cast at first light.Why they had the temerity to imply that I "had it bad" last summer when during the hottest week of the year I worked all night and fished all day 4times.What rubbish! So what if I totalled my new p.u.whilst daydreaming about Fraser Reds.Or the unfair pressure that was applied when I slipped at the slab,suffered a deep bone bruise to my leg and a separated shoulder.How unfair.Having healed,more or less the coho were on and I made more trips to the vedder.No more I should add than usual.On one such trip an older gent was playing a chum in fast rapids above me.He did not have the good sense to break it off so he was leaping from rock rock and headed right for me.I,being only too well aware how easily this can result in drowning obligingly jumped from my rock to another so he could get by.He lost the fish.I broke a bone in my hand and was in a cast for 5 weeks.Do you think I got any sympathy?Not a chance.Tackle control was somewhat impaired.
So I continue to fish but I am on the look-out for numbers of vehicles showing up unannounced in my driveway.I SHALL NEVER STOP!!!

I told my wife I'd quit fishing and take up watching sports in sports bars and playing pool.... I'll be back on the river this weekend! ;)

My missus still regrets the day that she bought me a trout rod for my birthday a few years back as I had mentioned for a many a year that I should get back into fishing... ;D
Several years later - added more rods and equipment to my arsenal and spending more time out on the river and lakes. :D
She rolls her eyes everytime I mention 'getting a boat'... ;D

Whatever! if it wasnt fishing the wives are whinning about then it would be something else:)My ex complained to the point where it ruined the marriage.I used the line as wel------l"Well at least im not in the bar drinking"-------Marriage ended shortly afterwards:)

There's alot worse things to be addicted to! ....Now, to put down the rod and start looking for a job... ::) maybe later...lol

Riverman I know a guy just like you ! He has a condition called CWDM!! Constant whitless destructive mental dissorder! This guy risks his health, personal saftey on the river, his marriage, his lively hood, and last but not least the wellfare of fish he is transporting when he gets into an MVA. The fish he was transporting was not his own, but a fish caught by his coworker who had transported this man in his own boat to the secret fishing spot! To add insult to injury, this addict called his coworker early in the morning and said if you want me to fillet this banged up fish , you better get here toot sweet!! Not wanting to loose 35lbs of prime Fraser spring I jumped out of my Lazey Boy, leaving my poor wife in tears on sunday morning! This is a sad case ! You need help man!!! ;D ;D

Do not make the mistake taking Viagra just before ya fish....ya may be ticketed for using 2 fishing rods !!!!
Crazy though how alot of tv commercials are very "sujjustive" ...ladies in bras ...Viagra...etc...shampoo commercials that sound like...."ya know what I mean"....
But Riverman ya just have to be more careful...that's alot of accidents in such a short time !!! Maybe ya should wear football pads & a bike helmet.... ( ya could of banged your head) I'll take my 7 hrs sleep though before going fishing...seriously if your driving with no sleep...it can be like driving while impaired !!! Many accidents happen because the driver fell asleep at the wheel.
Many cases yearly people have crash ups in our communities because they work 2 full time jobs (16hrs daily) & they are not attentive as they should be.
