Title: Lovely Morning on the Cap June 14th
Post by: Fish Assassin on June 14, 2004, 09:32:24 AM
Too bad the fishing was slow. Lots of people there this morning. Does anyone work or does everybody belong to the UIC fishing team? Saw one coho caught (approx. 1 1/2 lb) I caught one.

I know Fish Assassin I have  never seen so many people on this river in almost 2 decades of fishing it. I guess that's just the way it's going to be from now on what with the internet and the access to maps, fishing reports and anything else that good and smart fishermen use to keep secret about. Oh well, soon the Vedder will open and fishing for springers on the Fraser will be in full force.

Fished the big canyon area from 5am until noon this morning...should've turned around when I smelled that skunk on the highway enroute to the river.   :(

Oh yeah, almost forgot... saw one bonked around 11:00 upstream from me on the other side of the river.

Any CAWS members going tonight or tomorrow morning?

On Tuesday evening around 8~9pm, I was watching the action at the Cable Pool.  Nobody caught a coho, just one guy keep catching  steel-head smolts with a neon green spinner.

Then we noticed the small, brown, ferret like animal swimming along the cliff on the other side.     It had a small fish in its mouth.  It was sooo cute.  :-*

No one there knew what it was, as we all were asking and yelling each other,  what a heXX  that is...   ???
It wasn't a River Otter, I think.. ,   more like the Ferret or a weasel  or a mink...,  about one foot long and its slender body was all brown color except for the pinkish ears..   It swims and dives very well.  And better fisherman than the rest of us, as it caught 3~4 fishes in half an hour.   :-[     After all, it does fish for a living.

Anyone seen this guy?

Sorry for being off-topic...

Nooo... It wasn't a  muskrat.. I see it swimming around at the London's Landing all the time..  ;D  The one at the cap was skinny and long..  and much cuter than a muskrat..

Sounds like a small alligator or northern platypus.

Maybe it was an Alligator Platypus, they've been known to stray this far west, OOPS, off topic. Took a look at the water level at the ole Capper and low, low,
low. Not much going on there, time to break out the spring rod.
