Hey everyone,
In case I'm not the only one who's been coveting these since watching Rod's "Spoon Fishing for Urban Trout" video: retailers don't carry bombarda float (this side of the Atlantic, anyway) but you can get them from AliExpress here: https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20160919100835&SearchText=bombarda+float.
The shipping is nuts (30+ days) but mine arrived today, safe and sound.

Interesting - what would one achieve with one of these floats that one couldn't with an appropriately filled Adjust-a-bubble floats: http://www.cabelas.com/product/Rainbow-Plastics-A-Just-A-Bubble-Floats/702072.uts ?

Casting distance

Casting distance
Exactly. Adds enough weight for you to fish flies or lures that would normally be too light to cast.

I can cast a country mile with an adjust-a-bubble float. You pull the top up and you can fill with water - they are then very dense and give you great casting distance. You can control sinking rate, floating or not, etc by the air and water ratio you put in it. I think this looks like a step down from this IMHO and you can buy them in any local tackle store.

Bombarda floats (which I buy when I'm in Europe) are more aquadynamic than adjust-a-bubbles. They come in different weights and densities, and when retrieved a bombarda doesn't create a wake, allowing a more subtle presentation of the fly I trail 7 feet or so behind.

Well, that's a good explanation. Thanks! May give some a try.
