any idea when the local lakes are going to get stocked?

It usually begins in the last week of September or first week of October, depends on water temperature, staff availability at the hatchery, etc. For precise dates, you can always phone the hatchery or contact them by email or via their Facebook page.

Phoned yesterday, water is still too warm but cooling off quickly. If the rain and cooler temps keep up I would conjecture within 2 weeks. They like the water to be around 15 degrees C.

thanks for the info. My niece is dying to catch a fish. I think these pinks may be just a little too strong for her to reel in.
