Thanks to yakideath12 for coming to our rescue. We really owe him a lot.

Good to hear everything turned out well.

What are you talking about FA? Not everything turned out well, I am now car-less! ;D :P Who's going to catch pink salmon for you this fall? ;D

Look at it from a positive point of view. You're going to get a better car. Guess I'll have to give you some of my pinks.

Glad to hear everything turned out OK for family in the end Rod.
I had a similar experience at the same Lake about 6 years ago myself.I was staying at Steelhead campground down the hill from Red and talked some one in our party to join me at Red for a days fishing cause I've always wanted to try this fishery
After about an hours drive and a beautiful day on the Lake, which only a couple of Brookies were retained to share with our group we headed back to the camp site but first into Savana for evening supplies
I decided to Gas up our F150 while there, but was soon stopped by gas station staff when they saw a stream of gas pouring out of the bottom of my truck.
Apparently along with a broken rod tip on this trip I also punctured a hole in the upper part of the wife's truck.
Luckily for us though we were able to still drive home we just couldn't fill the tank over 3/4 full
