Buying fish
« on: September 20, 2011, 08:50:29 PM »

I want to buy some fish for smoking this year. I have been smoking my personal catch but I would like to smoke some additional fish. I purchased two pinks at Steveston docks ( $10 each ). Where else can I legally purchase fish at
reasonable prices ?

$10 for a pink seems expensive, I was buying socks (legally) last year for $8 off a boat in Langley. did you try haggling with the guy at Steveston? They were selling socks for 15 last time i was there, I would have thought a pink should be half that price or even less.

Superstore should have some right, not sure about the price but I recall seeing some fresh ones for 7-8$ a month or so back Might be frozen though if that makes a difference?

Could you tell me whereabouts in Langley to look. I'm in that area frequently.

If you don't mind a bit of a further drive you can buy pinks for 2cents/lb in Alaska.  ok so the money spent on gas might eat into your savings, I don't know, I don't have a calculator on me right now..

Somewhere off of 88th ave, I think around 252nd. I doubt they have any socks at this time, their season ended a while back.

Pricemart had whole pinks gutted and head off for around 7 or 8 bucks. If you paid 10 in that's too much
