Rating system or feedback for buy and sell??

Wondering if possible to do a feedback or rating system for the buy and sell??? or if anyone else is interested in seeing something like this as well???
I've had both positive and negative dealings with guys on here and think a feedback system might be something to help on the negative side...
Yesterday I met up with Pat on an electric Minn kota and marine battery...It was in excellent shape and a very positive deal...
Other times I've been pimped by guys who sell out from under you or just flat out blow you off...that should be addressed too!!!!

So what do you guys/gals think? I think it would be a big help on here!!!!

It cant be done. Something like that can get this site into trouble. As much as I would love to see it I think it well cause nothing but problems.

Your main problem is you buy to much stuff. If you cut that down you'd have less problems

I guess the other thing you could do which wouldn't take any programming is just make a post asking the forum if the guy / gal is a good egg when it comes to buying and selling stuff? I guess if nobody knows anything, you take your chances.

Don't know why you'd say it can't be done????  I go on golf websites that have at any time over 1000 active members, they have a section on feedback...I've seen it on other sites as well...If some guy hoses you, why can't  you leave feedback and  let the rest of the forum know??? Would you like to deal with a guy who was selling junk or stolen goods??? Same for good deals as well, you would know who to trust and not and it would straighten out the dinks hopefully or send them to other sites..

The current forum program does not have rating features similar to what Ebay does. There are also other factors that I need to consider as bbronswyk2000 has already brought up, the rating system would need to be policed rather heavily to make sure no one abuses it.

In the past, we have banned a couple of users after we were informed about their poor practices in the buy and sell section. I can't necessarily get your money back if you are ripped off, but please do email me if there is a problem so we can do our best to protect forum members.

I like the idea.
e-bay has it and it works great.
In fact you can find out a lot about a purchaser/vendor before you even take their offering seriously.

Yeah, I hear what your saying Rod. The biggest issue would be deputes, obviously. The petty crap would be the main problem..."it said like new and there was a scratch" that kind of crap..but since 90+ % of what is sold on here is between guys meeting and seeing what their buying, hopefully that would be the buyers own fault...
But if we had a system that could identify guys who are jacka$$'s or repeatly abuse the system  we could send them on their way or at least make a few of them think twice before they screw someone over...

I don't think it's neccessary for a few reasons, mostly Brian and Rod have already pointed out.

I've participated in a few deals from the Buy and Sell and so far so good, but the easiest thing is to post and or warn Rod about any BAD deals you experience, that saves the hassle of moderating and administering everything that goes on as well over 90% of deals here are probably fine, as BONK said they guys here are MOSTLY honest.
