Might be kind of fun to hit the islands next spring/summer.
Smallmouth Bass.....fun!
Questions: what' the average size of smallies in St. Mary's Lake on Saltspring Island? What's considered a fairly big smallmouth there?
P.S. Are the largemouths the FEMALE bass, and the smallmouths the MALE bass? ;D ;D ;D Just kiddin' ladies!

A lot of fun! :)
This year LukeYVR, Chrome Mykiss, Nina, Zazia and I were there for a weekend. We'll probably do this again next year and welcome anyone on the forum to join us to stay at Lakeside Garden (FWR members get discounts and free boat usage, electric motor is extra).
How big are the bass, here are some pix to give you an idea:

Great pics, as always, Rod.
Great fun on a FLY-rod....I wasn't even thinking about that! :)
Can I assume from the pics that the bigger ones are around 17"? But what about the average size fish, how big would they be? We don't need huge fish at all.
Bye

Average size is about 1/2 to 2/3 of those. :) But, lots of them! ;D
