Thompson Trout fishing
« on: September 24, 2006, 12:25:28 PM »

Hi all,

Looking to find a spot on the south Thompson this week to flyfish for some trout. any ideas. Also, are the sockeye being flossed on the Thompson being caught on light fly tackle with a sinking tip? or bottom bouncing with a bait caster? Haven't fished there before and hear the trout fishing is good now. Any help would be appreciated!

It was slow when I was up there, too many socks pushing the bows out of their preffered holdin water. As for areas to target, try around Ashcroft (sorry can't help you with any south Thompson spots). The fishing will be good if the sockeye #'s are dropping.
