Title: Troll Spinner
Post by: BwiBwi on June 27, 2005, 06:14:02 PM
Hi,
I am having problem trolling spinners the main line kept on winding up.  Is there something else I should use
other than just swivel?

Thank you

Maybe one of those rudder things they have on those wire trolls would help.

Another way to fix it, is if you are using a sinker, put in a 3-way swivel, and rig it up like you would normally, except attach the sinker to the "third swivel" end. The weight will stop the swivel from rotating witht he swivel, while forcing the swivel to turn.

Another method, is to buy better quality swivel, such as a bead-chain swivel, or even a bal bearing swivel (although these are very expenzive, and not neccessarily required).

See how it works out.

I was using high quality swival and still having problem.
So I guess option 1 with use of 3 way swivel and may be use a 1 pound weight to 'anchor' 3rd swivel end.  ;D ;D
Will give it a try in Bunzen.

;D ;D Hey hey THAT will keep it from spinning up the main line for sure, then I'll try reducing weight  ;D ;D.
I had to change two reels because the mainline was all tangled beyond belief. :'( :'(

Make sure your line is kink free when you wind it on your reel.
