Cariboo / Kamloops - poor fishing?

(1/2) > >>

marshal:
Was up at Lac de Roches on the weekend and have never seen the fishing so bad.
Heard some folklore that most lakes are suffering due to a big kill from lack of oxygen somehow due to a very early ice-off and turnover.
Anyone with info on this?

Trout Slayer:
Were you fishing fly or metal?

Lac des roche, not likely, lake is to big and deep for a winterkill. Lakes under 20 feet deep are common to having winterkills but not all. Aerators are on some to keep the water moving for oxygen.

Plus the fishing could have been bad if the presentaions were not very good. It's early in the season and it will only get better as the weather heats up and more hatches occur. Mayfly's have just started, one started on a lake I was fishing on the weekend, saw a huge on my pontoon.

The_Roe_Man:
I was up a fawn lake and the fishing was good.  The fish seemed to be bigger than last year too.  There wasn't too many hatches going on though and the fish were deep.

casinoJim:
was good last year
