Looks like the owners want to play hardball. The only ones they have to blame is themselves. If they would stop paying/offering huge salaries to the players, they wouldn't have a problem. I get a little tired of the owners blaming the players for higher salaries. If my boss offered my $50K more a year I wouldn't say no. I'd take it and run. Owners need to fix the situation amoungst themselves first before they come to the players.

maybe they can use a grandfather rule to slowly put it into the league... ::)

It's going to be interesting to see how the strike is going to play out.

They met today in the big smoke and, as usual, nothing happened :-\

they probably just go in there have a few brewskies and do nothing ::)

News today is that they met and couldn't agree ::) NHL wants a salary cap, NHLPA says no way. Go figure. I don't see what the problem is. Most of the owners that are spending big bucks (NYR) can't win anything. It's the middle of the road teams that have excellent development programms that are winning. The owners have a spending problem and they want the players to say no to money. What a joke! Next time I go into Babcock's for more fishing tackle I'm going to ask Brian to not take my money. HA!
