Not the biggest fish I've caught but some of the prettiest, and not another rod in sight....

I didn't see another rod in sight either, just me and this wild doe sharing a moment on my local flow. BTW she took a pink and black worm twice before I convinced her to come crawling back for some Steelhead roe

Stratocaster and I hit the flow today.  I managed to land this beauty doe.  Stratocaster hooked one right after I released her!   :)

Looks like this one from yesterday afternoon is going to be the last one of the season for me as I have to return to work next week.
Wild fish of around 12 pounds. ;D

Ordinarily I would agree with you but in this case - the lake is 3 hours hike from the road, and the road is not well travelled.  It's pretty remote, and at seriously high elevation.  The lake is absolutely rammed with brookies - like, I lost count at about 30 caught and released in the first 2 hours.  You can see from the one pic by looking at the size & maturity of the head that these are actually mature fish but they are limited in their size by the short season at altitude.  So they aren't juvenile fish, that's just as big as they grow up there.  It's pretty much an unfished lake and the population is huge so I don't feel that it is unethical.  Others may differ in their opinions but so be it.

I'm happy to reply to PM's with the location.
Hi Stuart

I cant see your email to PM you so my email is joshhowat@hotmail.com mind letting me know what lake that is?
