Here is a typical boat launch site on the South Fork of the Snake River in Idaho. It is over 100 km from the nearest town of any consequence.

Here is one on the Missouri... It has a huge parking lot and room for at least 50 campers and trailers.

By contrast the popular Cowichan River does not have ONE boat launch site. Port Alberni, the so called fishing destination area has only 3 boat launch sites. The river has none, other than one rough, brushed out dirt track on the lower river with no parking.

Boat launch at the pump station on the Sumas River has not been repaired/serviced for probably 40 yrs.
It is barely usable without getting stuck.

Welcome to BC.

Had free parking this summer in Laguna Beach California but we pay 3 dollars per hour in whiterock.

Yes, and wasn't Port Alberni voted the fishing town of Canada a year ago?

That being said, I easily located a boat launch on the lower Fraser with ample free parking, and two ramps, by doing a google search.  Unfortunately, it did not help me catch anything but more pike minnow.

The state of California has no fresh water left and is essentially bankrupt.
