Im going to use cured shrimp, im going to buy probably cooked shrimp in those shrimp rings, but i dont know what cure to buy. Powder? Liquid? Which one? Pro cure? Any other cure? Please tell me the cure you use! Thanks! What one do you use? After curing, im probably gonna use rock salt.

Oh ok ;D Then should i just rock salt it so it gets hardened and stays on the hook longer? Was there any difference between cooked and raw shrimp for you?

Thanks, ssd0904

Forget the "cure" forget the "salt"... ;D
Snack on em...as your fishin... If a steely is their and you drift it by their gonna nail it whether it's raw ,cooked ,cured ,salted, peeled etc...
Just a fingernail size chunk will do it. The secret isnt in any of the above the secret is finding the fish and getting your chunk o bait in front
of their nose.

Just my 2 cents  ::)

But i head some people doing good with shrimp that's why i just thought it'd be good to try them, but people use them cure so i thought why not me, But Im probably gonna still use salt because i have a lot anywatys and it haardens i dont want to waste 50 fishing.

--if a lake and bait is allowed you can use the fishticks or other scent on any lure or spoon casting or trolling. I prefer use of scent, especially on light flutter or wobble type spoons as it does not affect the action of the spoon like a bait will.
--I use scent rather than bait even icefishing with jigs as get better action on the lure.
--Also just something different to present rather than same old plus less hassle with storage of the scent.

If you want to fish bait in a lake keep it simple. Shrimp, garden worms, eggs easy stuff. If you find fish you will catch them.

Raw shrimp + salt ( I use aquarium salt) and toss with borax after the salt has sweated out some of the juice
(borax makes it better to handle too IMO)
And you can procure as well and have a bag of each to try.
Switch up and see which works best for you on the different waters you'll visit.
EXPERIMENT
When you figure out how your fishing is going on whatever body of water or flow for which ever species your targeting; make a note.
Myself: Raw shrimp + salt + a piece of colored yarn/wool when needed.
(I do procure on occasion though).
Before you ask what color yarn get a few different colors (think: procure colors) and experiment; the color can change from flow to flow, visability, species.......
EXPERIMENT.
Good Luck
As bbronswyk wrote "Keep it simple", the fish your after don't read this forum.
Also ask at the tackle shop, you don't have to buy the store.
A good tackle shop makes nothing off your first visit (slight exageration)  they make thier money off your future visits

Here's some advice that changed the way I thought about fishing:

It's not so much what you put on your hook, but where you put it and how.
