Right now thats all I use, or my kayak. But ware your life jacket and don't freak out with the way a conoe flops around in strong currents. Stay in the center and act like a ballast. Enjoy the ride. Fraser is low, and about as nice as it gets for both water temp and current stength.

Caught this photo of a Chill-billy from downtown Chilliwack, who joined me in the birchbark for some nasty sox sorting.

even DFO guys wear two life jackets at fraser.. it is very tough place.

two weeks ago, i crossed mouth of pitt lake from end of rannie rd with my two kids.. when i returned the tide was change, and made very strong current. i pretended to stay cool, but i was really scared, and my kids too. my friend said that the place is easy to cross..

Lower Fraser has strong tide changes and out flows from rivers like the Pitt and worse yet the Harrisson are for experienced boaters. I would hope ROE KIDS  dad has done alot of small craft operation to back up the safety factor. I'm an experienced boater, that knows knowledge comes from building up on safe boat handling techniques. Don't go in any boat your not very familiar with, or are competently taken in. I would rather drown than take someone on a dumb joy ride.

Pictures of a young fisher on learning curve. He was instructed about waring the life jacket on the Fraser, after learning how to operate the boat in safer waters this year. Take time to read tide tables and the affect of them(visually) on the lower Fraser, as well as negotiating stronger currents in smaller craft.
My 2 cents.

Water depth is about 3 feet during this shot, most if not all of the way (testing out new motor).

Has continued to ware life jacket to enjoy flossing Sox after canoe ride past hill-billy point.
