The Fraser has ben rising a bit the last few days.

I am wondering now that more water is coming down Minto channel that it may not be crossible this season.

Will size it up tomorrow although I saw fellows wade it at the start of the spring season at the first of May.

The river reading was 5.55 then and now is 5.58 at Hope so if the report is it is unwadeable now is correct we may have had a channel shift during this years freshet.

The Fraser is its own master.

Fulcrum:  You may consider hiring a water taxi to take you to a more isolated bar (if there is such a thing) to get away from the masses. I believe the cost is $40.00

It's only the cost of a couple of good cigars  ;D On a serious note, the Fraser is not the place to be lgetting lost. Best you go with someone who knows what they're doing.

::) i'll say it again, i spend less on cigars than someone who smokes half a pack of cigarettes a day...

But as I said, i need to go with someone to show me the river so i don't get myself killed or a ride in a comorant helicopter.

Better than the Sea King  ;D! I checked out pegs yesterday and it's still about 3 feet high or so.

Sounds like it will be uncrossable then during the sockeye opening because of the reasons I posted above. :-\

Too bad as it would take some pressure off the other bars.

met the canoeboys there today, very slow, lotsa boats on the far side up high. And saw a few nut jobs wade across but it was up to their armpits and fast, had a hard time going back in the canoe as it was hard to steer with me in the front and canoeman in the back a foot out of the water :o

what you need is what my buddy in the Phillipines just bought......a aluminum landing craft, complete with drop down ramp, QUAD Volvo diesel engines (retrofit), twin screws, twin 1000 watt searchlamps, and (weapon removed) heavy machine gun mounts........

he's welded on an aluminum frame, for a tarp to cover the whole boat from the sun, added a generator and barfridge, BBQ, benchseats and tables, and storage area.

now thats a boat for the fraser.....(with the heavy rifles attached of course.....)  ;D
