Title: Harrison parking
Post by: mcallagan on October 28, 2015, 07:43:44 PM
I have heard that parking at Kilby is pay parking.
How does the parking work?
Someone there to pay, a ticket dispenser/credit card pay??

I only think that you have to pay to launch a boat. I have never paid there before when parking but haven't been there this year so maybe things have changed.

$10 to  park. There used to be a ticket dispenser and envelopes to place cash in. We haven't launched this year yet to know if it has changed.

There is pay parking for those with trailers and free parking for those without.  There is a ticket dispenser but I don't know if takes credit or cash or both as I only launch my inflatable.  They recently converted a bunch of the free parking spots to camp sites, and you now park across from them, so I can no longer park next to the beach and carry down to shore.  I now use the ramp and unload everything next to it then go park.

To the left at the top of the boat launch is a box on a board, empty envelopes inside. 10$ for launching a boat (not sure about parking but i believe the sign to the right states $) opposite end of the parking lot where you park is a drop box.

Inside the envelope is a number, place one on dash leave the other inside with $$. Drop in box.

It is checked almost daily by someone who live close by. Your vehicle will be towed as i've seen it done before.

Thanks guys,

I'll be sure to have cash rather than just plastic when I go there.
