Title: Pinks and Cutthroat in the Fraser
Post by: fullahead on February 15, 2005, 11:28:00 AM
I have been fishing for years but just started getting in to fly-fishing. I bought a five-weight fly rod last year for lake fishing. I would like to try cutthroat fishing in the Harrison River and bay. The pink fishery in the Fraser River, this year will be good as well. Is a five-weight rod to light for pinks?   A question I have, would I use a floating or sinking line. Any information would be appreciated.

A 5wt is good enough to handle pinks and the odd coho...  The reason you want a heavier rod is to cast in windy condiction.  As for fly line, you should have both floating and sinking for different appication.

Just bought my Rio multi-tip.  I can't wait to use it.
