Title: Island Fishing
Post by: JustinG on September 13, 2004, 12:01:51 PM
It's been a while since I posted a report. Not because a lack of fishing but just the opposite. Have had a chance to fish a lot of great places this summer. Bamfield was amazing but the highlight was the 7lb Rainbow on the Shuswap. I have a photo...but have not had a chance to develop all my film either...

Anyway...on with the report...

Was on the Island again this weekend and gave the Oyster a go. Fished the Tidal and Non-Tidal portions. Saw 3 other guys in total.

Caught a ~5lb pink on a croc spoon in the Tidal and sent her back into the pool she came from. A few hours later I C&R a ~8lb Coho a little further upstream on croc spoon under drennan float. Great looking chrome fish, good fight.

Bringing my fly rod next time. Beautiful river to fish.

Off to fish the Babine and Fulton next week.

Cheers!
