What are you going to use the rod for ? As to reels I suggest a level wind reel such as an Ambassador or Shimano

Last year i bought a 10'6 berkley kodiak rod mainly because I was interested in the reel it came with, didnt use the rod much kept it as a backup until one day I managed to snap my good rod while chum fishing, so I used the berkley and was really impressed with it, since then its my number one rod. I use an ambassaduer 6500c4 reel and find it a good match and very versatile.
